Murder conviction overturned 28 years later

GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — After serving 28 years in prison on a murder conviction, Elvio Marrero was acquitted. A retrial wrapped up in Franklin County Superior Court on Wednesday, finding Marrero not guilty on one count of murder in relation to the 1994 death of Greenfield resident Pernell Kimplin, a staff member at Stoneleigh-Burnham School.
